Setup a Wireless Home Network
Having trouble setting a home work and not experiencing the full benefits of a home network as yet
Setup a home network between your computers and devices
A home network will allow you to share an internet connection, printer, all mobile devices as well as other files like documents, spreadsheets, movies and music between as many computers as you like.
Create network share locations
A wireless home network will be setup using affordable hardware available from our online store like a router and network card/s, all of which can be supplied by you or us.
Enable shared printers and media devices
Rather than having copies of shared files stored all over the place, we will create one central location for sharing your files or documents and show everybody how to access it quickly and easily from any device on your home network.
Connect other networking devices
Your printer/s and other networking media devices (like an Apple TV) will be added to the network so that everyone in the home can access them from anywhere on the home network.
What’s also great is that many other devices are ‘networkable’ too meaning they can be added to your home network and then be accessed on other devices on that network. For example, you might want to add your ipad or digital camera to your home network so that holiday photos can be viewed on your big screen TV! We’ll help with this.
Computer and Network Security
With all of the personal information stored on computers today, there’s nothing more important than making sure they’re secure. Protect your financial records, photos, personal emails and other private data from identity thieves by letting us secure your computer for you. We will make sure your systems are locked-down and safe from unauthorised access. What will we do? Here are just a few of the more obvious items:
Set up a unique network name
We will set up a unique home network name of your choosing so that you can easily identify yours from others in the surrounding area.
Enable wireless encryption
Using a WPA2 security key for the highest level of encryption available for your router, your personal information will be protected from online theft and your internet connection secured against use by others.
Change the default administrator user name and password
All new routers come with a default, factory-set administrator username and password. This makes them relatively insecure and vulnerable to being hacked, potentially putting any personal information stored on your network at risk. Your router’s default username and password will both be updated to ones of your choosing.
